Jamie Morgan, Principal Fire Safety Consultant at ESI: Fire Safety, was accepted as a Corporate Member of the Institute of Fire Prevention Officers on 22 July 2026. The professional membership grade permits Jamie to use the post-nominal letters MIFPO and recognises his qualifications, experience and level of responsibility within the fire safety profession.
The achievement follows more than two decades of work across electrical safety, fire protection, regulatory compliance and specialist consultancy. It also forms part of Jamie’s longer-term development in fire risk assessment, fire strategy, DSEAR and fire engineering design.

What is the Institute of Fire Prevention Officers?

Developing competence through qualifications and experience
Jamie has completed the FireQual Level 4 Certificate in Fire Risk Assessment and the National Safety Academy Level 6 Diploma in Fire Risk Assessment. He is also undertaking a Level 5 Diploma in Fire Engineering Design and maintains an extensive continuing professional development programme.
He is registered at Intermediate level on the National Fire Risk Assessors Register and holds professional memberships across the fire safety and engineering sectors.
His practical experience covers offices, retail premises, industrial and commercial buildings, schools, residential properties, heritage buildings, hazardous areas, ATEX-classified environments and COMAH sites. This gives him a broad view of how fire safety interacts with building construction, electrical systems, business processes and management arrangements.
Through ESI: Fire Safety, Jamie provides fire risk assessments and fire safety consultancy, retrospective fire strategies, DSEAR risk assessments, fire door inspections and advice on active and passive fire protection.
