ESI: Fire Safety Accepted as a Member of the UK Fire Association

We are pleased to share another positive step forward for ESI: Fire Safety. In June 2025, ESI: Fire Safety was accepted as a member of the UK Fire Association.

For us, this is more than simply adding another logo to the website or another line to our email footer. It is part of a much wider commitment to professionalism, competence, continuous improvement and doing things properly within the fire safety sector.

Fire safety is not an area where shortcuts are acceptable. The work we do affects people, buildings, businesses, livelihoods and, in some cases, lives. That is why we believe it is important to remain connected with recognised industry bodies, keep learning, stay up to date with changes in guidance and legislation, and continue raising the standard of the advice and services we provide.

Building on more than 20 years of experience

ESI: Fire Safety was created as the dedicated fire safety arm of ESI: Electrical Safety Inspections.

Our background is rooted in more than 20 years of electrical safety, fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, inspection, testing and compliance. Over that time, we have worked across a wide range of premises, from offices and shops to residential blocks, hospitality venues, healthcare settings, industrial buildings, schools and commercial properties.

That practical background matters.

Fire safety is not just about knowing what a regulation says. It is about understanding how buildings are used, how people behave, how systems are installed, how equipment is maintained, and how risk changes over time. It is also about giving advice that is clear, realistic and proportionate.

As our fire safety work has continued to grow, it made sense to bring these services together under a dedicated fire safety brand.

Today, ESI: Fire Safety supports clients with:

Fire Risk Assessments, fire alarm servicing, emergency lighting inspections, fire extinguisher servicing, fire door inspections, fire safety signage, fire safety training and fire strategy support.

We work with responsible persons, landlords, managing agents, business owners, property managers, consultants and facilities teams who need competent, practical advice they can understand and act on.

Why UK Fire Association membership matters

The UK Fire Association supports professional fire companies working across fire prevention, protection, servicing, training and related areas. For a business like ours, membership helps us stay connected with the wider fire safety industry and reinforces our commitment to responsible practice.

It also reflects the direction of travel for ESI: Fire Safety.

We are continuing to invest in training, professional memberships, technical knowledge and robust internal standards. Fire safety is changing quickly, particularly following major shifts in building safety expectations, fire risk assessment standards, fire door awareness, fire alarm guidance and the responsibilities placed on building owners and responsible persons.

Being part of recognised industry organisations helps us remain engaged with that changing landscape.

Our wider professional development

Membership of the UK Fire Association sits alongside our wider professional development and industry engagement.

This includes involvement with the Institute of Fire Safety Managers, the Fire Protection Association, the Institution of Engineering and Technology, and the National Fire Risk Assessors Register.

These organisations each play a different role within the fire safety and wider building safety sector. For us, the value is not simply in being listed as a member. The value is in the learning, accountability, technical awareness and professional standards that sit behind that involvement.

We believe clients should be able to ask sensible questions about competence.

  • Who is carrying out the work?
  • What experience do they have?
  • Are they continuing to learn?
  • Do they understand the relevant standards?
  • Can they explain the risks clearly?
  • Will their advice be practical, proportionate and properly documented?

Those are fair questions, and they are questions we welcome.

Practical fire safety support for real buildings

One of the biggest challenges for many clients is knowing where to start.

You may know you need a Fire Risk Assessment, but you may not know whether your fire alarm system is suitable.

You may have emergency lighting installed, but no recent test records.

You may have fire extinguishers on site, but be unsure whether they are the right type, in the right location, or still within service.

You may have fire doors, but no evidence that they have been inspected or maintained.

This is where ESI: Fire Safety can help.

Our approach is to look at the building, the people using it, the fire safety systems, the management arrangements and the documentation. We then provide clear advice on what is satisfactory, what needs improvement and what should be prioritised.

We do not believe in alarmist reporting, but we also do not believe in ignoring serious issues.

Good fire safety advice should help you understand risk and take sensible action.

Who we help

ESI: Fire Safety works with a broad range of clients across Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshire, London and the South East.

This includes workplaces, commercial premises, residential blocks, hospitality venues, healthcare settings, schools, retail units, workshops, warehouses, industrial sites and mixed-use buildings.

If you are a landlord, business owner, managing agent, facilities manager, consultant or responsible person, you have legal duties around fire safety. Those duties can feel overwhelming, especially when guidance changes or when previous documentation is missing, outdated or unclear.

Our role is to help you understand what applies to your premises and what needs to be done next.

A clear aim

Our aim is simple.

We want to provide clear, competent and practical fire safety advice that helps clients protect people, property and business continuity.

Being accepted as a member of the UK Fire Association is another step in that journey. It reflects our ongoing commitment to doing things properly, investing in competence and supporting clients with fire safety services they can rely on.

If you are responsible for fire safety in your premises and would like support, we would be happy to help.
